Yes! The answer is yes!

I love this take!

The hypothesis does assume a lot about nerurodivresity that is more complicated than it would appear. It shows how much our general understanding of ADHD and ASD as humans needs to catch up. And the research itself may be flawed as well! Unless your agents have access to the body of current research. Still, your agentic research is probably getting warmer to the truth.

I'm sure the research is as perfect as our neurodivergent minds, but it's definitely food for thought.

Well, as someone with mild autism (or Level 1 autism), high intelligence (which I assume you also have), and—in my case—inattentive ADHD, what AI makes infinitely easier for me is dealing with my executive function issues. I find it much easier to get started with AI because it helps me bring order to my mind, rein in the part of me that wants to jump from one thing to the next, and push the part that needs to have everything perfectly wrapped up before taking the next step. For me, that’s been a substantial change; I’ve always said I was born to think, and it helps that with AI, another entity takes care of the execution.

Fantastic. I didn't know there were autism levels!

Neurodiversity, different types of minds, different ways of thinking – it’s a really interesting topic to explore. I used to think that everyone saw images in their mind, like films, until, by chance, a medication made them disappear, and I realised that not everyone’s mind works in the same way… it’s a vast and profound subject…

For me, it was always very clear what my goal was, because I could literally see it, but the journey seemed so long and arduous – oh, so many steps… – that I got tired before I’d even started. Now I can apply that visualisation to the AI, and it helps me get there by breaking it down into small steps and giving me little rewards along the way, which help me keep going.

And I’ll stop here... otherwise I’ll go off on a tangent and never get back to work xD

Thanks for all your posts; I find it interesting how many people I follow, or whose way of thinking I’m interested in, end up being neurodivergent.

Awesome piece! I love the research and it sits well with my experience with neurodiverse people. Whenever people say, "Superpowers!" I get skeptical. I like that you opened with that idea and then cast a more realistic light on it.

Thanks for researching and putting together this piece. I am forwarding it to multiple people who are neurodivergent or interested in the topic.

Absolutely. It certainly *feels* like a superpower, sometimes. But as I said in my earlier piece, it comes with kryptonite. A mixed blessing.
