Another gem, Jurgen. That adds a lot to think about; I didn't know there were so many core elements do describe patterns. I will share it with Bob Galen, as we talked about Patterns vs Frameworks as well: https://bobgalen.substack.com/p/coaching-frameworks-or-patterns

One of your best, Jurgen! Have been operating this way and advising/coaching my clients this way for years, but only vaguely describing the "patterns" without a pattern language (or meta language).

BTW, on the topic of WIP Limits, would be curious to get your take on my slightly different variation, at least at the task (vs portfolio) level:

Which core elements and/or pattern libraries would you recommend to learn first?

2000 LEGO bricks indeed can be overwhelming ;)

That is like asking which human language to learn first. English? Spanish? Chinese? Russian? The answer depends on your context.

Thank you for your reply!

I own a small company (100 employees). We manufacture automotive chemicals (cleaning sprays, engine oil, etc.).

The main problem, and hence need for an improvement in organization, is in translating the KPIs into tasks and then monitoring their results and/or enabling employees to move more autonomously, guided by the KPIs.

I hope I've written clearly this time :)
