Interesting point of view, although from my perspective, Management isn’t about performing tasks: it is about representing stakeholders and holding responsibility for decisions making, something that AI( statistical predictions models) are not able to, and are not legal authorise to perform.
Model 1: The Short Pyramid: this means every second level disappears? 3 -> 2 , 5 -> 3 ?
Model 2: The Rocket Ship: a person is supported by half Person's and AI's under them is a AI supported to an AI or only people? leads this to empower people to collaborate with people and AI on the same level? KUDOS Thinking with Peers?
That is a good question but yes , the Rocket Ship sees AI agents as much as co-workers as people . If and how empowers them to work on the same level will probably make a good story for many management books to come

This is a great take on the future of work. I’m curious, is this the natural evolution of the “matrixed” organization
Only time will tell but in my mind, this absolutely makes sense and almost has to evolve in this direction
